I have been putting off blogging long enough. I attempted to start a blog the summer of 2013. I paid an etsy seller to create my ideal blog. She took my money and never produced a product. Etsy refunded my money when the seller never responded to any of my communication. Now I am a little gun shy getting another blog creator. Here goes my own effort!
So, my biggest issue with writing a blog was that it would take away from my sewing time. Sad, but true! I am working through the issue as you can read.
I had thought about quilting for years, and I finally made the decision to teach myself. I started quilting in November of 2010. My husband, Les, bought me a Janome sewing machine for my birthday. Some of my co-workers were aghast that I was getting such a domestic gift, but I was really excited. I was a closet crafter; most people didn’t know that I had skills!
I am very fortunate to have a great LQS nearby. I took a beginner’s quilting class. It was a great way to learn the basics. I also joined their Block of the Month program. It was good place for me to get started in the quilting world. I learned a lot during that process. The blogging world has also been an amazing teacher. I have been fortunate to find many wonderful quilters and fabric designers that are willing to share what they have learned. It has been 3 years of learning, sewing, swearing, and some ripping, but mostly loving quilting.
It is time to start blogging about my experiences. I have made lots of progress, but there are still many challenges I would like to tackle, some WIPs to finish, and a fabric stash that needs to be used!
Thanks for reading my blog and joining me as I quilt my way through life.
