2014 Finish #1: Baby Lincoln’s Quilt
One of my good friends, Cindy, became a grandma over Christmas – Lincoln was born Dec. 27th. As soon as the pregnancy was announced, I knew that I was going to make a quilt. Cindy mentioned once how her boys loved construction sites when they were growing up. They could sit for hours and watch all of the movement for hours. Once I saw the Under Construction by Kanvas for Bentarex fabric, I knew this is what I would use.
The pattern is Cluck Cluck Sew’s Ziggy Baby quilt. This has been my go to pattern for baby quilts. It is an easy pattern to follow and quick to put together. I think I have made 6 different versions of this quilt.
I did the quilting about a month ago, but just didn’t get around to binding it. For some reason, I procrastinate on binding. Really, it is my least favorite part of quilting. My stack of quilts to be bound was at 6. Due to the polar vortex, I got a couple extra days of sewing time when school was cancelled.
