WIP #3 – Sunnyside Mystery Quilt

I added another project to my WIP list while at quilt retreat.  The purpose to was to cross more off the list than add, but I couldn’t resist the mystery quilt from the LQS’ retreat.  There were 5 different options of fabric choices.  I went for a deep blue and orange combination, using the twilight floral fabric of Kate Spain’s Sunnyside and orange paisley of Lily Ashbury’s High Street.

Deciding what how to finish the quilt top was simple. I am just waiting for the mailman to arrive with my fabric.  I am hoping that I will have the fabric for the long President’s Day weekend.

I am planning on adding a small border of Kona snow about an inch wide around the current version.  The 2nd border and binding will be using more of Kate Spain’s Sunnyside.

Border:

Binding:

The backing will be a solid blue.  I will color match when I get the binding fabric.  Here’s to hoping for a productive weekend and getting rid of this cold.

I am linking up with Lee’s WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

About My Pieced Life

I am in love with all things quilting. My sewing room has many works-in-progress and a large stash of fabric. I have big plans and lots of ideas of creations I would like to make. My wonderful husband supports my obsession and Carson, my Australian terrier, keeps me company while I sew.
