I have a been a relatively good girl!! Let’s be real here. A girl can’t change her stripes overnight!
I did buy 5 yards of Moda Scrumptious backing and a yard of Moda Scrumptious orange dots for binding. I already have the jelly roll and background fabric.
We are at the end of March and my purchases were about current projects, Not just fabric that I wanted or “needed” to have. My Triangle Along and the Scrumptious backing and binding were in the allowable list! YAY!! This may be the best month for my fabric fast.
I was really tempted to join Fat Quarter Shop’s Wishes Quilt Along. I didn’t by the kit, even though I had a coupon. When I went back to their website to get their kits, it was all sold out. Fat Quarter Shop doesn’t sell individual fat quarters. My first option would be buying half yards of the fabrics needed. The second option was to purchase the pre-made bundle. I would use less than half of the bundle. Neither seemed like an option I liked. So once again, I have delayed a purchase and a commitment to the Wishes Quilt Along.
Why do I need to work with my stash rather than purchase more? Do you see that shelf on the left? That is all fabric. My collection is relatively organized for all to see. Most importantly for me to see when I start new projects. I really need to use more of what I already have.
Has anyone else been getting lots of coupons for “our very best” customers? I haven’t been spending money on fabric, so now companies are seeking me out.
Fat Quarter Shop has sent me a 20% off coupon. I will be using this to purchase the backing for my Triangle Quilt Along Backing: 108 inch Carolyn Friedlander’s Black Screen from her Botanics collection.
Overall, March wasn’t too expensive fabric wise. That is a step in the right direction! Hopefully I will keep making a dent in my stash.
