Tula Pink has a strong connection with Olive Juice Quilts in LaCrosse, WI.   That is the quilt shop she chose to sell the last 100 decks of Elizabeth playing cards.  She will be there to debut the new Tula Pink Bernina: a 2015 BERNINA 350 Special Edition (B 350 SE)!  Those that purchased the Bernina from that shop get a special meet and greet when they pick up their new sewing machine.  I am a bit jealous and SERIOUSLY thought about getting the special edition!

TulaPink_350RevisedLuckily, there will be a 2nd session afterwards for other Tula fans!  Olive Juice Quilts will be hosting a Tula Pink lecture on February 21st.   Tula will be speaking about how she creates her fantastic lines of fabric.  She will have some of her quilts with to show the group.   (Being able to see the detail of Angela Walter’s long arm skills is treat!)  After her lecture there will be plenty of time to meet Tula, get a book signed, take some pictures.

Julie was willing to go with me, but she has a 40th birthday party to attend.  She isn’t a huge Tula Pink fan, but Olive Juice Quilts is one of her favorite quilt stores.  My husband is not nearly as excited about the possibility of him using the 2nd ticket.  He suggested I find a friend to go with at an upcoming quilt retreat.

Do I need to finish up a Tula Pink quilt by then?  My 100 Modern Blocks quilt top is done, I just haven’t gotten around to making the pieced backing.

Kind of feel like that would be a great time to get pictures with her and one of my quilts.

About My Pieced Life

I am in love with all things quilting. My sewing room has many works-in-progress and a large stash of fabric. I have big plans and lots of ideas of creations I would like to make. My wonderful husband supports my obsession and Carson, my Australian terrier, keeps me company while I sew.

  1. Yes! A picture of you Tula and the quilt, oh yes! Fabulous! I too am a Tula fan, if it wasn’t so far I would come down to go with you! Plus I would have the added bonus of meeting you. Love your quilts, your 100 blocks is beautiful.

  2. Ack, so jealous! And hoary for you- by all means take your quilt to meet her!

Absolutely – I am looking forward to the pic! Haha, you really have to finish now 🙂 Like positive pressure like that!

    • I know I could get the backing done in time, but I might not be able to get a long arm quilting appointment! It may be a situation where I am hanging out with the owner of the long-arms for Valentine’s Day!

I Love Olive Juice! I worked there for almost 4years. I am buying the Tula Machine! I cant wait to go on the 20th and see her again! You will have so much fun at her lecture! She did a lecture a few years ago when I worked there and she is such a treat. Such an amazing woman!

    • Wow! I don’t think I would have walked out of Olive Juice with a paycheck! How exciting that you are getting a Tula Machine! I keep telling myself that a Tula Bernina would be a great travel sewing machine.
