WIP ADHD 1-28-15

I have a serious problem with project monogamy!  This past week has been terrible!!  The projects are stacked up on each other.  I made a little headway with organization and have made progress towards completion on my other projects.

I started making design boards.  Lori Holt’s (Bee in My Bonnet) Design Board tutorial is super easy!!

This board is 10 inches square.  The binding I used was leftover from previous projects.

IMG_2669 The 2nd board is 16 inches square.  I am pretty proud of that corner!  More information coming in a future blog post.

I made lots of binding.  Two of the quilts that I have quilted need binding.  Sometimes I even have the binding made before the quilt top is complete.

Bindings for

The Mini Ziggurat was a kit that I purchased from Pink Castle Fabrics.  What I loved about this kit was that all of the fabrics were labeled by color and where it is to be used in the mini quilt.

IMG_2675I decided to do a pieced backing.  I don’t normally do this, but I had so much extra.  Love that in a kit!

Here it is all basted and ready for quilting!  Was too late in the day to start quilting.  I want to be on my best game and not exhausted after a day of work.  Not sure if I will do some straight line quilting or use my Bernina Stitch Regulator for random designs.

IMG_2679Lots of progress made, but not on just one project!  Project monogamy be damned!

Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced’s WIP Wednesday.

About My Pieced Life

I am in love with all things quilting. My sewing room has many works-in-progress and a large stash of fabric. I have big plans and lots of ideas of creations I would like to make. My wonderful husband supports my obsession and Carson, my Australian terrier, keeps me company while I sew.

Project Monogamy, LOL! You and me both! I need to buckle down and get some things finished!!
Love the Ziggurat’s color! I need to check out the design boards and see why I need one!

    • I wish I would have had the boards when I was making the mini ziggurat! It was tough to keep all of the blocks straight. I had then all laid out and pinned, and after sewing those pieces together, they didn’t layout according to the design. There was some ripping and swearing, but I finally finished the top. I’ve only had the boards a week and have already been using them. So should have made them years ago! Very helpful with BOM quilts! Will definitely be using them for the Fat Quarter Shop Snapshot quilt along. Let me know if you make them and how the process goes!

  3. Cool colors, not to mention the name, of the Ziggurat! Some days are just not meant for focusing, they are moving around, fussing days. You still got a lot done!

  6. I desperately want to make one of those mini design boards as well but don’t have foam board or a glue gun. Hmm, some new purchases required I think!

    • They are really easy to make. You definitely need a glue gun! I have two because I forgot where I put the first one! I bet you could use regular Elmers glue and an iron if you don’t want a glue gun. These boards will be great to use while making the Snapshots quilt!
