“March”ing along – a couple quilt top finishes!!!

I was also able to complete the quilt top for the Moda Back Shop Fairground Quilt in Scrumptious.   Whooooo Hooooo!  If you have been following my blog, you know that I started this in January 2014.   It feels so good to have this done.

The quilt top was too long for my design board – had to drag on the floor!  Plus, I had to use wonder clips to help keep the fabric up on the design wall.

I also fell in love with my Craftsy Irish Chain quilt top.  It was good for the mind!  I’ve been a bit “foggy” lately due to some medications, stress, and the lupus.  I felt like I was putting a puzzle together making sure that I had all of the fabrics in the correct place and in the right direction.  My design wall was a huge help!

IMG_2968All ready to go long-arming!  The backings are done for both of these!  So nice to have so many options!  I have an appointment March 28th, but may try for a 2nd appointment this month.  Whoo hoo – this girl is getting projects done!

About My Pieced Life

I am in love with all things quilting. My sewing room has many works-in-progress and a large stash of fabric. I have big plans and lots of ideas of creations I would like to make. My wonderful husband supports my obsession and Carson, my Australian terrier, keeps me company while I sew.

Congratulations on your two finishes! I love both of your quilts, but I especially like the grey on your Irish Chain. I’m just finishing a quilt with lots of grey sashing. I’m a teacher also. I know how hard it is during the school year to fit in enough time to quilt to your hearts content! What do you teach?

    • It is hard to find the balance between work and quilting! I usually only have time on the weekends, unless there is a major deadline! Gray has become my new favorite neutral for quilts! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  2. They look great! I do love Bonnie and Camille fabrics and the Bake Shop design really compliments them.

Your quilt tops look great. I bought that Craftsy class as well but I have only watched the first segment. It was that quilt with the grey background that sold me on the class !

Such beautiful quilt tops. I think I like the second one the best. 🙂

Great finishes! Can understand why you are so happy having finished this long term project…
They look both just great and I like the grey, too!

I enjoyed seeing both beautiful quilt tops. Do you rent time on a long arm to quilt your quilts?
