Sunday Stash due to SR Harris – Part 1

I had to check out SR Harris the fabric outlet in MN.  Crazy Mom Quilts blogged about this store.  I didn’t even know of its’ existence prior to her blogging.  How was I unaware?!?!

My husband asked if I would ride along to check out some moped parts.  On the way home, I remembered that there was a SR Harris fabric outlet in the Burnsville/Savage area.  We had the time to check it out…

WOW!  It was pleasantly surprised at what this outlet offered.  It was bright, white, airy, and very organized.  Fabrics are organized to types (voile, home decor, quilting cotton) and there is a semblance of organization within the categories.   There were stripes, dots, blenders, lots of novelty fabrics, batiks, baby themed, the list goes on.  Some of the brand names in the quilting cotton was Riley Blake, Timeless Treasures, and Michael Miller.

There was even a little bit of Moda, about 5%of the quilting cotton.  My husband is awesome… he was the one who spotted the stash.  He knows what his lady likes!

Fortunately, I found a print that I have been seeking for years!  The elusive girl on a swing by Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey.  I have only seen this in a store once in a fat quarter bundle.  I bought the bolt!  So many options as to what to make with this fabric!

I found some Tula Pink Voile:  I am thinking a spring scarf and maybe a pillowcase or two.

In the remnant bin:

IMG_3020That right – the rem ant bin:  Tula Pink Parisville and Michael Miller Glitz.  Parisville is OOP and very popular right now!  Instagram’s #thegreatfabricdestash currently has this priced at $15 a half yard.  I got 1¼ yards for $6 – whoop whoop!

This is what got Julie on the road to SR Harris the next day!  Moda’s Countdown to Christmas from Sweetwater.  Another OOP fabric that is pretty hot right now on Instagram.  I would have purchased the fabric her, but she didn’t know how much yardage to get and wanted to check out the store herself!

While there I talked to the owner/manager Scott.  He said that there may be some Tula Pink Parisville at the original branch.  Guess was that means….  There is a part 2 to Sunday  Stash!

If that bolt of girl on the swing leads you to want to share, even a fat quarter…please email me. Oh my how lovely. Wonder is hubby would be suspect if i suddenly wanted to vacation in MN.
    Simply delightful!

  2. ARGH! That is an amazing score!!! I love when I find similar things in my LQS buy one get one free fat quarter bin… it’s like “Do you even realise what you have here?!” What are your thoughts on the exponential increase in OOP fabric? I’m totally for it, but I need to write a post to really explain myself clearly so people don’t think I’m just a big bad meanie! haha

    • Oh, I think we should have that conversation! Free market baby!! I couldn’t believe what I found! If the store only knew what they had?!?! I am all about finding the quilt shop treasures! The 2nd part tells of another treasure…
