2015 Finish #12 – Craftsy Irish Chain

This quilt was so not my usual style!  I really liked the Craftsy kit and couldn’t resist the purchase.  I started this quilt in February.

I chose a quilting pattern with bubbles to distract from any lines that might not be straight, give it movement, and to reflect the circles on the backing.

I used a new fluffy batting making this even more cuddly.  The loft of the batting gives the circles a bit more dimension.

The binding is Lotta dots in gray.

A completed quilt done all in 2015!  Good to know that I can maintain enough focus to finish a project – almost like it was project monogamy!

About My Pieced Life

I am in love with all things quilting. My sewing room has many works-in-progress and a large stash of fabric. I have big plans and lots of ideas of creations I would like to make. My wonderful husband supports my obsession and Carson, my Australian terrier, keeps me company while I sew.

  1. Gorgeous as always! I made two of this pattern using layer cakes for a friend’s children.

it looks great! I’ve never seen an Irish chain done this way round, they’ve always got white backgrounds and I love the use of colour as the background. The bubble quilting really suits it. As for finish #12… what! I’ve managed to finish #1!
